🔍🚀 GAP Mid-Term Check: A Key Milestone for the Network

The GAP Mid-Term Check took place at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano, marking a crucial milestone in the project’s journey and providing an important moment of reflection, evaluation, and future planning.

The meeting brought together the full GAP consortium, doctoral candidates, and representatives of the European Research Executive Agency (REA). The day opened with welcoming remarks from Dr. Sofia Hardouin Monroy, REA Project Officer, and Prof. Laura Maria Vergani, GAP Project Coordinator, followed by presentations from all partner institutions showcasing research progress, training activities, and collaboration across the network.

A central part of the meeting was dedicated to the doctoral candidates, who presented their individual research projects, training paths, and secondments, including descriptive posters. A dedicated restricted session with the REA Officer provided an open and constructive space to discuss supervision quality, integration, career development, and alignment with the European Charter for Researchers.

The Mid-Term Check confirmed that all doctoral candidates have been successfully recruited and that the project is progressing according to plan, with strong attention to management, Open Science, dissemination, and risk mitigation. The REA feedback highlighted the coherence of the GAP training strategy and its positive impact on early-stage researchers.
