4th GAP Workshop:
Scaffold design, 3D printing and in vitro testing
TUD and TUE, October 27th-28th 2025

The fourth GAP workshop brought doctoral candidates to the Netherlands for a unique, hands-on journey from scaffold design to biological validation. Hosted jointly by TU Delft and TU Eindhoven, this workshop showcased the full bioengineering pipeline that underpins next-generation solutions for bone regeneration.

Participants worked with generative design tools, additive manufacturing technologies, mechanical testing methods, and micro-CT analysis before moving to tissue culture, bioreactors, and biological assessment techniques. Small-group rotations ensured close interaction with experts and personalized training.

By integrating engineering, materials science, and biology, this workshop embodied the GAP project’s interdisciplinary vision—equipping doctoral candidates with the skills needed to translate innovative designs into clinically relevant solutions.
