DC8.
Micro-scale fragility indices as a diagnostical support
Objectives
i) To update the Ethic Agreement as regards inclusion and exclusion criteria for patient selection;
ii) to define quantitative micro-scale morphological indices to compare healthy and pathological bone samples;
iii) to evaluate the micro-scale effects of the pharmacological treatments;
iv) to implement an Open Data Repository with the data obtained by healthy and pathological samples.
Topic in Brief
The aim is to obtain data related to morphological indices and determine which indices are able to classify healthy and pathological bones. The same paradigm is applied to highlight the effect of drugs and pharmacological treatments on morphology indices. All these data are collected for an Open Data Repository.
Enrolment &
Planned Secondments
Enrolment: IOG
Secondments:
1) Prof. Hofmann (TUE): to analyze the effect of drugs on morphology of bones
2) Prof. Zadpoor (TUD): to study the compatibility of scaffolds and bones
Expected Results
1) Definition of the morphological indices that allow to characterize healthy and pathological bones;
2) evaluation of the effects of different pharmacological treatments on micro morphology;
3) implementation of an “Open Data Repository” to collect all the data from healthy, pathological and treated bones related to morphologies and damages.
